Dr. Laura Molezini, PhD

Postdoctoral Associate

Dr. Molezini earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Ribeirão Preto, Brazil. She was then awarded a Ph.D. in Biotechnology Applied to Health from the University of Ribeirão Preto, Brazil, and during this time she was awarded a CAPES fellowship. Her dissertation focused on the effects of systemic MMP-2 administration on subcutaneous, visceral, brown, and perivascular adipose tissue in mice. During her PhD work, she was a Visiting Research Scholar Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, funded by a Doctoral Research Abroad Fellowship (CAPES). Laura's work focuses on targeting purine metabolism to promote recovery after spinal cord injury.
