Dr. Fabio Tescarollo, PhD

Senior Scientist III

Dr. Tescarollo earned his Bachelor’s degrees in Biological Sciences and later in Pharmacy from UMESP, Brazil. He then earned his M.S. and Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the Department of Neuroscience/Neurology in UNIFESP, Brazil. Prior to joining the Firestein Lab, Dr. Tescarollo was a Visiting Researcher and then a Postdoc at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Over the past 10 years, his work has focused on understanding the mechanisms underlying neurological diseases.  In the Firestein Lab, Dr. Tescarollo studies the role of purine metabolism in recovery and activation of the guanine deaminase cypin as a therapeutic target after traumatic brain injury.
